Light and Darkness
Chapter Eight
Should Light and Dark ever clash… flee, flee for your lives.

The hordes of demons stopped their advance, as did the angelic army. Dark approached, his cloak flowing behind him. Whenever a foolish angel struck out against him he would slip into shadows and avoid the blow, the fools never got a second chance for he would slip back into existence with his blade lodged in their throat.

“Come out Light or I will slaughter every last soldier you command.” His fury lashed out at those around him; demons roared and devoured those before them, horrors slashed and cut, angels clutched their ears in agony as the fury of Darkness tore at their minds.

For the first time in her existence Light hesitated; the cloaked one had never struck out in anger… she had never even seen him angry. It scared her.

As their leader cowered the angels tried to rally the defense but at every gathering a massive beast of shadow would smash through, at every blockade a bladed horror would slip through and bloody their ranks. They were fighting a losing battle, they were out numbered, out maneuvered and for every enemy they defeated three more took its place.

The cloaked one continued his deadly dance through his enemies, hundreds littered the ground by his feet and hundreds more would fall before him if Light did not face him.

Light knew just as well that her forces would fall before this demonic horde if she did not act.

Steeling herself for the coming battle the angel descended and lost the focus she had over a certain mother.

“Oh my god! What made me say that to Kimmie?!” Kim’s mother screamed to herself in the car, those weren’t her words! She may not agree with the way Kim had decided to live but that could never stop her from loving her daughter.

Kim’s mother quickly reversed and turned back towards where her daughter was running.

Kim couldn’t believe it; how could her mother react like that? Her Mom had never reacted that badly to anything before… it just didn’t seem like her… but she still said those horrible words. The teen ran faster back to the home of the one person on earth that would understand.

The regretful mother tried to pull up alongside her daughter and explain how she hadn’t meant what she said but every time she did Kim would put on a little more speed and pull away from her, she could tell from the look in Kim’s eyes that she wasn’t going to listen.

Mrs. Possible kept trying and trying until Kim couldn’t take it any more. Screaming curses at her former mother Kim leapt on to the nearest fire escape and began running from roof to roof back to her beloved Shego.

Kim’s mother felt defeated… Kim wasn’t going to let her explain… with a tear in her eye she turned and left… one day Kim might want to talk to her again but who knew when that might be…

The injured thief felt like a complete fool. If she’d only kept her mouth shut then maybe Kim’s mother wouldn’t have reacted so badly… and Kimmie would still be with her…

A loud thump on her roof made Shego the tiniest bit fearful; it would be at least a day before she could fight again and what if those things had come back to get her? As her door opened she prepared herself for the worst. What she saw was so much worse… her Princess was crying.

“Kim what’s wrong?” Shego asked weakly.

“My mother…” Kim sobbed and threw herself into Shego’s arms. “She… she… disowned me…”

Kim was a wreck and Shego knew just how it felt; alone, hated, even feared. She wrapped her arms around the teen and tried to comfort her red head. The thief knew that it would take a long time for her Pumpkin to move on but Shego would be there for her every step of the way. Or she would be when she could walk again.

As long as there is Light there will be Darkness

Twenty times Light had struck him down and twenty times he had risen from her shadow. Light always creates Darkness but Darkness can exist without Light. If he could just tire her enough then maybe her control would slip and those she commanded would be free of her.

As his dagger cut a sharp line across the angel’s arms she did lose focus for just a moment.

To any that could see beyond the world Ron’s brow lost the branding mark of light and he awoke. Fumbling in the darkness of Zorpox’s bedroom he began to realize the horrors he had committed.

Light will guide you.

The vile creature sought to free her puppets? She focused intensely upon the freed teenager and the regretful mother. Her mark appeared on their brows and their thoughts were hers to control once more. She had a new plan.

“Hold there cloaked one, attack me again and I will destroy my puppets.” She said with a smirk. Darkness stepped back; he had no choice.

“Very well you shining monster but know that when they are free of you I will return.” And with that said dark and his horde slipped back into the void. Anger would bring nothing now, he had to be calm and plan for every possibility.

In the mind controlled pair their thoughts were identical; how could she do that? How could she do that to me? She deserves all that she gets.

Kim had finally stopped crying; she hadn’t meant to cry… it just happened and she knew that Shego wouldn’t think less of her because of it. The teen remembered where she was and buried her face into her thief’s hair, she felt safe.

Kim had finally stopped crying and Shego couldn’t be happier; the chance that her Princess might look up at her and smile filled the older woman with hope. She loved to see Kimmie smile.

The thief was starting to feel much better and with her meteor given healing powers she would be fine in about ten minutes. Meteor powers were so worth the green skin.

“Kimmie are you okay?” asked a healing Shego to which Kim replied with a soft kiss. Kim loved the feel of Shego’s lips, they were so smooth but there was always a force behind them, even when Shego was being gentle.

“I’m fine Shego,” Kim said smiling. “I’d pick you over my family any day.” Another kiss stopped Shego from arguing the point. Kim would be okay… in time, but until then she didn’t want Shego to worry.

The thief knew Kim was avoiding talking about it but if she got to kiss her Princess she didn’t mind. As the thief pulled away slightly she felt Kim’s arms wrap around her neck and pull her deeper into the kiss. Kim needed this right now and Shego was happy to provide.

After a full minute Shego had to pull away, her evil mind had worked something out.

“Kimmie’s gonna sleep with me tonight,” sang a joyous Shego. The teen’s face turned a brighter red then she thought a human could.

“What… what do you mean?” stammered the blushing hero.

“You don’t want to go home and I’ve only got one bed in the whole building,” Shego said as she leaned in closer to her Pumpkin, so close that their lips almost touched again. “So that means you’re sleeping with me.”

Kim couldn’t move, she couldn’t think, all she could do was nod and try and kiss her girlfriend again. Shego pulled away as the teen tried to steal a kiss.

“Easy Princess,” Kim pouted as her girlfriend moved back. “Save it for tonight.” Kim turned an even deeper red at those words and quickly got off of Shego and sat next to her with her hands on her knees. Stupid Shego and her stupid way of saying stupid stuff.

What a rush; making Kim blush was awesome! She had to keep this going. The thief slowly got up, wrapped her arms around Kim’s waist and whispered into her ear.

“Come on Kimmie, it’ll be fun,” Kim nearly fainted as Shego voiced what the hero thought were her plans. “You, me, the bed; it’ll be a night to remember.” Kim didn’t doubt that but she was worried what Shego would think of her after…

“It’s going to be cold tonight Kim, cuddling will be much better the just the blankets,” Shego knew what Kim had been thinking and it had been fun to lead her along for awhile. What was that sound Kim just made? Was that a sigh of disappointment? The older woman smirked to herself; so Kimmie wasn’t as good a girl as everyone thought.

Why did Kim feel so disappointed? What had she been expecting? A brief flash came to Kim’s mind; Shego standing above her and Kim looking up at her love. Just as fast as the image had come it vanished and Kim blushed. Did she just imagine Shego about to… oh god Kim, where is your head at lately?

Her Princess was squirming in her arms and Shego would have bet that it didn’t have anything to do with her proximity. The thief smirked again; this was more fun then plasma blasting Drakken.

“Kimmie’s having naughty thoughts too,” sang Shego playfully to which Kim jumped and flipped over the couch.

“You should lay back down… you’re hurt,” Kim hoped that her little attempt to change the subject had worked.

“Nope, I’m fine Princess,” just to demonstrate the thief flipped over the couch and stood over Kim. “All better.”

Kim was on her back, staring up at the beautiful former hero. Shego could do anything to her right now and she wouldn’t be able to stop her. That thought got Kim excited.

“Come on Kimmie, I want to take you on a little ride.” Kim had no idea what Shego meant but at this point her mind was so preoccupied with thoughts of the night to come that she blindly followed the thief as led her to a darkened room and hit the lights.

It was amazing! A jet was sitting in the middle of a miniature hanger in Shego’s basement! Kim could see a couple of doors to other rooms but she was too enraptured by the beauty of the sleek green and black fighter that stood before her.

Unfortunately for both the hero and the thief the doorbell buzzed and Shego glanced to the room’s security screen. The meteor powered former hero let a raging green glow cover her hands and bounded upstairs with a terrifying look in her eyes.

Kim took one look at the screen and knew what was wrong… and it was far more horrible then she had ever imagined.

Awesome fic. I love how you wrote this. The intersections of dark and light mixing with the 'REAL' world is a brilliant.

I'm only up to chapter 8, but I have to wonder, What the hell is up with light?!

She seems to be the evil side and dark seems to be good. Maybe thats your point. Why should light always be seen as right?

Anyway I digress, Love the story.

Reading on.....
